Allan V. Rose
Allan V. Rose is the Owner and Chief Executive Officer of AVR Realty, a privately held real estate development and management company. He founded AVR over 70 years ago and through a strategy of development and acquisition has created a highly diversified portfolio of commercial, hotel, and residential properties, located throughout the continental United States.
As the Chief Executive he establishes the strategic objectives for AVR and oversees the team responsible for executing those strategies. Understanding the cyclical nature of real estate and financial markets, he set up a unique business plan for AVR comprised of a broad portfolio of holdings that encompasses virtually all sectors of the real estate industry. This plan has enabled the company to identify changes in market trends and position itself to move on potential opportunities. Today, the company’s holdings include office complexes, shopping centers, industrial properties, residential communities, apartment complexes, and hotels. Through his vision and expertise, AVR has become a recognized and respected leader in the real estate industry.
Michael Jacobs, as Vice President oversees the operations of the Company. In this role, he works closely with AVR’s in-house teams, external management companies, hotel brands, and partners to increase value across the AVR portfolio. In addition, he leads the firm’s financial operations, planning, and technology functions. During his tenure with AVR Realty Company, Michael has had a wide range of responsibilities including the acquisition, disposition, and asset management of properties nationwide including office buildings, shopping centers, hotels, and multifamily apartments. Michael is also actively involved in our new development projects centered on Long Island.
Michael previously worked within the real estate private equity industry where he was focused on executing real estate investments across various property types and geographies. Throughout his career Michael has completed over $1.5B in transactions across the country. Michael received his M.B.A. from the Stern School of Business at NYU where he was a Stern Scholar. He received a B.S. in Management from Binghamton University.
Lily Ann Marden
Lily Ann Marden, as Vice President – Head of Capital Markets secures the financing for AVR’s real estate portfolio. She has raised and closed over $3 billion of debt and preferred equity through a variety of sources including commercial banks, commercial mortgage-backed security lenders, insurance, and other financial institutions. Throughout her long career at AVR, she has overseen the structuring, marketing, negotiating, and closing of all loan transactions as well as on-going relationships with lenders and servicers. In addition, she shares responsibility in the oversight and structuring of major transactions as well as asset management. She also oversees tax certiorari proceedings, insurance risk management and employee benefits.
Lily Ann was previously on the real estate lending team at a major New York City bank and received her BA from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and MBA from New York University.
Thomas F. Perna, P.E.
Tom Perna, as Director of Land Development, facilitates the planning and development of raw land for residential, commercial or industrial purposes. Tom is unparalleled in his ability to effectively navigate the increasingly complex field of environmental rules and regulations, approval and zoning processes necessary to successfully guide a project from initial site selection through the construction stage. An Engineer by trade, Tom began his career with AVR over 30 years ago and is presently overseeing projects in New York’s Hudson Valley and Long Island regions.
Brian Ferruggiari, as Director of Public Affairs, coordinates the local community outreach and government relations activities. Brian joined the AVR team in 2005 after serving 30 years in government, 16 as an elected official. His knowledge of government and local civic associations has proven to be a valuable tool during the planning and approval phases of development projects. Brian was instrumental in the approval of an 850,000 sf. retail center, a 322 acre mixed-use master planned community, and securing numerous grants.
Dan Simone, as Vice President of Development and Construction, uses his client relationship management skills to negotiate the myriad of complex federal, state, and local regulations as well as coordinating all consultants to bring AVR’s Residential/Mixed Use and Commercial projects through entitlements and into construction. Dan also leads various residential and hotel construction projects portfolio wide. Dan joined the AVR team in 1998 after a ten-year career as a Professional Engineering Consultant specializing in large scale land development and Municipal Highway Works projects as well as Structural Designer and Construction Manager for Private Residential and Commercial projects.
Dan received his Bachelor of Engineering with concentrations in Civil/Structural from Hofstra University in Long Island, NY and additional Post graduate studies in Structural Engineering from Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY. Dan has also volunteered much of his time over the years as a youth sports coach and Scout Master for the youth scouting programs as well as being a big supporter and fundraiser for Alzheimer’s related charities.
Daniel Giordano as Senior Director oversees the retail department and all leasing activities portfolio wide. Dan has 15+ years of experience in commercial real estate and retail asset management. Mr. Giordano attended Boston University and Suffolk University Law School, is an active member of the ICSC, and volunteers at the Daily Bread Food Pantry in Danbury, CT.
Anthony Shabani, as Director of Property Management oversees the day to day operations of our retail, hotel and residential assets. He is responsible for preparing and executing operating budgets for property maintenance, property improvement plans and capital projects. Since joining AVR in 2016, Anthony has been instrumental in completing retail tenant fit outs, hotel PIPs and other construction projects in the portfolio. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Economics from Manhattan College.
