Shortly after Hurricane Katrina ravaged New Orleans, AVR toured a historic hotel destroyed by the hurricane called The Roosevelt. The hotel was the social center of the South with its own radio station out of The Blue Room where stars such as Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Jimmy Duranti and Frank Sinatra performed. AVR purchased the hotel and began work gutting and completely restoring it.
